What the apps use

lil' Lock

Uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework for Touch ID and reads the app list you choose to protect.

lil' Storage

Reads public disk-capacity information. Wallpaper color sampling stays on the Mac and does not scan Photos or wallpaper history.
